A cube is packed with decorative pebbles. If the cube has a side length of 8inches and each pebble weighs on average 0.5 lb per cubic inch, what is the total

A cube with sides of 8" has a volume of [lwh=(8)(8)(8)] 512 cubic inches.

 

If each pebble weighs 0.5 pounds/cubic inch, we need to multiply 0.5 pounds/cu in  by the number of cubic inches (512)

 

So (512 cu in)(.0 lb/cu in) =256 pounds.
