Hi Melanie,

x^3y^3+27
=(xy+3)(x^2y^2-3xy+9).......................................using x^3+y^3=(x+y)(x^2-xy+y^2)

This is in the form a3 + b3, where a is xy and b is 3. The factoring formula is a3 + b3 = (a + b)*(a2 - ab + b2).

x3y+27 = (xy)+ 3= (xy + 3)(x2y- 3xy + 9)
