Corrected sentence: Although Elvis Presley is called the King of Rock and Roll, he did not invent it. Reasoning: 1) Elvis Presley is a man’s proper name and should be capitalized. 2) Titles are capitalized and rarely call for quotation marks (and if they did, there should be one at both the beginning and end of the title.) 3) “while he did not invent it” is a fragment, a dependent clause, as it has a subject and verb, but doesn’t express a complete thought, This is because it begins with a subordinate conjunction, also known as a dependent word. The clause needs to be combined with the previous complete simple sentence to create a proper complex sentence. For the sake of style and clarity, the clause is placed before the original sentence, and the word “although” is substituted for “while.” Since an introductory dependent clause requires it, this clause is followed by a comma.

But better than my take - in terms of nuance and comprehensiveness regarding the question you ask, are these two passages from a quick Google search : This from Wikipedia (searching "Cultural Influence of Elvis Presley:" Since the beginning of his career, Elvis Presley has had an extensive cultural impact. According to Rolling Stone, "it was Elvis who made rock 'n' roll the international language of pop." The Rolling Stone Encyclopedia of Rock & Roll describes Presley as "an American music giant of the 20th century who single-handedly changed the course of music and culture in the mid-1950s".[1] His recordings, dance moves, attitude and clothing came to be seen as embodiments of rock and roll. His music was heavily influenced by African-American blues, Christian gospel, and Southern country. In a list of the greatest English language singers, as compiled by Q magazine, Presley was ranked first,[2] and second in the list of greatest singers of 20th century by BBC Radio.[3] Some people claim that Presley created a whole new style of music: "it wasn't black, wasn't white, wasn't pop or wasn't country—it was different." He gave teens music to grow up with and listen to, as most singers in his time created music geared for adults. Presley sang both hard driving rockabilly, rock and roll dance songs and ballads, laying a commercial foundation upon which other rock musicians would build their careers. African-American performers such as Big Joe Turner, Wynonie Harris and Fats Domino came to national prominence after Presley's acceptance among mass audiences of White American adults. Singers like Jerry Lee Lewis, the Everly Brothers, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Little Richard, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and others immediately followed in his wake. John Lennon later commented: "Before Elvis, there was nothing."[4] +++++++ So John (Lennon) is very generous in saying the above, but he exaggerates. There was in fact "a lot before Elvis"....

This from Quora - for even further subtle detail when it comes to answering your question: This Quora comment written by: Brighton Jaimeson "Elvis is unjustly said to be the “King of Rock and Roll”. However, Elvis stated that Eddie Cochran was the King of Rock and Roll, because Elvis respected the fact that Eddie was able to write his own songs and play lead guitar when needed. While I respect Cochran... he was not as deserving of the crown as others. Robert Johnson, Charlie Patton, Son House, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, etc would be more [appropriately labelled as] the King of Rock and Roll due to their contributions to the genre... Calling Elvis the King of Pop is actually more of an accurate description in my view...Elvis even admitted to that fact. Elvis did not contribute to the genre. He, like most pop stars, are a pretty face and a good stage presence, singing songs others wrote." OK so that last bit is the opinion of this guy on Quora from back in 2018. Well it's true that Elvis was hardly a guitar virtuoso or a song-writer...but his presence, one-of-kind AMAZING voice, and sense of rhythm and timing (on the level of Sinatra, I'd say), were just insanely fine (in my and many others' opinion). And being revered as the "King of Pop" is no small thing. Final thought: Rock and Roll as a genre had so many fine and early influences - yes, as noted above, African-American Blues, Christian Gospel, and Southern Country etc. To label any musician/ singer as "The King" of the genre is to give short shrift to the amazing variety of influences that fed this musical genre as it evolved over the years. It's the variety of influence - unique contributions as well as vast cultural ones - that give Rock 'n Roll its fantastic power and beauty over a period of decades now...
