It's a good question, because it focuses the mind on what really was going on with Elvis' being dubbed "The King"... I am one of those who do not subscribe to the opinion that Elvis was the "King of Rock 'n Roll" ... He was and should be more properly labelled the "King of Pop" - due to his huge, unparalleled influence on international commercial pop music a number of years before The Beatles came around (and the Fab Four freely acknowledge being influenced by Elvis, among others. The title king of Rock 'n Roll is probably more aptly given to Robert Johnson, who was singing bluesy "rock 'n roll" style songs back as early as the 1930s!

Corrected sentence: Although Elvis Presley is called the King of Rock and Roll, he did not invent it. Reasoning: 1) Elvis Presley is a man’s proper name and should be capitalized. 2) Titles are capitalized and rarely call for quotation marks (and if they did, there should be one at both the beginning and end of the title.) 3) “while he did not invent it” is a fragment, a dependent clause, as it has a subject and verb, but doesn’t express a complete thought, This is because it begins with a subordinate conjunction, also known as a dependent word. The clause needs to be combined with the previous complete simple sentence to create a proper complex sentence. For the sake of style and clarity, the clause is placed before the original sentence, and the word “although” is substituted for “while.” Since an introductory dependent clause requires it, this clause is followed by a comma.11/11/19
