Dear Val,
The number of negative signs you are multiplying determines the sign of your product.
If there is an EVEN number of negative signs being multiplied, it is POSITIVE.
Ex) (-)(+)(-)=(+) or (-)(-)(-)(-)=(+)
If there is an ODD number of negative signs being multiplied, it is NEGATIVE.
Ex) (-)(+)=(-) or (-)(-)(-)=(-) or (-)(+)(-)(-)(+)=(-)
