If my current grade is an 80 and my final exam is 10% of my grade and say i fail with a 60. How many point will my grade go down

I have a final exam next week which im nervous about. My current grade is an 80 and the final is worth 10% of my current grade. if i make a 60 what would my grade be

Grade = (0.9)(80%) + (0.1)(60%) = 72% + 6% = 78%

 

You'd only lose 2% - down to 78% from 80%.  But even if you get a zero, the lowest your grade can go is 72%.  Better to pass though and keep or improve that 80%.
