Naina, I do respect your answer but the water when turns to Ice expands and then gets less density than water, besides, if you see in the ocean the big icebergs float and it is not due to its Hydrodynamic or hydrostatic form.From wikipedia I make this transcript:" The solid form of most substances is denser than the liquid phase; thus, a block of most solids will sink in the liquid. However, a block of ice floats in liquid water because ice is less dense. Upon freezing, the density of water decreases by about 9%.
