There are many countries in South America and they have different governments that vary in governance and policy. First you need to list all the countries in South America looking at a globe/atlas or going on-line. Then you can visit the embassy website of each country and find out that how they define their governance. Do  they consider it socialist, communist, democratic or  monarchy or anything else. That is the accurate way of answering the question.
