What is one real world example on multiplying and dividing rational expressions?

I am doing a math booklet on multiplying and dividing rational expressions for incoming Algebra 2 students. The contents of the book must contain a cover page, 2 step by step problems solved, 10 practice problems with worked out solutions, and one real world example about the topic. I have done everything except the real world example, which is what  I am stuck on. I have no idea who would use this, besides math teachers. My algebra teacher gave me this example:

"Professional football players would most likely use quadratic functions to help them make plays."

This assignment is due on Tuesday (05/30/17) please help me. I have to print this booklet out before then.

Hello Arturo O.,
Thank you so much for this answer and for answering so quickly. I am sorry if there is any miscommunication here, but what I meant was what jobs (besides math teachers) use multiplying and dividing rational expressions and how they use it. I will definitely use this though, thank you so much!

If it is jobs that use this type of math, then I would say any job involving calculations are likely to use rational expressions:

physicists
chemists
mechanical engineers, aerospace engineering, electrical  engineers, and many other engineers
Life sciences professionals would use them too
social sciences professionals, such as economists
.
.
.
etc.

Hello Michael J.,
I wasn't saying quadratic functions are rational functions. My teacher just gave me an example because all the students in the class are each doing different topics for the math booklet. She was giving me an example on the topic quadratic functions because I asked her how the real world example was supposed to look like. I just need help with finding a real world example of multiplying and dividing rational expressions. Who uses them and for what reason (except math teachers)
