x = y + 568.5

 

Now, use the Substitution Method

 

(y + 568.5) + y = 3207.5

y = 1319.5

 

x = 1319.5 + 568.5

x = 1888

 

$1888 was taken in on Sunday, $1319.50 was taken in on Friday
