I have part a i just need help with part b thanks in advance for any help i get

Note that differences of consecutive terms equal 7: = 44 - 37 = 37 - 30 = 30 - 23 = 23 - 16 = 16 - 9 

 

Thus we can start with a something like b-7i, where i is an integer from 1 to 6 (number of sum terms). 

The first term (i=1) will be 44 =  b - 7i =  b - 7(1), from this we can compute b. Just in case we can check what 

happens with other values of i, for example, i=6. (do it as exercise)
