I have a question on my quiz that have two ways to read

Today me and my friends had our quizzes back and we got points off for this Question

At a festival, students are playing a carnival game where you throw darts to the darts board. If you hit the Bulls eye you get a goldfish. When you hit the rest of the board you get a candy, and if you completely miss the board, you get nothing. The probability of hitting the Bulls eye is 12% and the probability of hitting the rest of the board is 55%. What is the probability that you don't win a candy both times when you play the game twice?

In order to solve this question me and my friends did 45/100*45/100=9/20*9/20=81/400 And our teacher marked it as wrong People who got points on the question was people who did 1-55/100*55/100 We think there are two ways of interpreting this question and we think although people who got it right are correct, but we are also right because you can rather take the question as

Don't "win a goldfish both times" Or Don't win "a goldfish both times"

Please tell us your opinion about this questions and what you think is top right or wrong.

Sincerely A 7th grade student
