How do I calculate 2 2/5 + ¼ =?

Many ways to do this.  One way is DECIMALS: 2.40 + 0.25 = ____________

 

Another way is to get a common denominator for the two fractions:

2/5 + 1/4 = (8+5)/20 and so for this problem your final result will be 2 13/20 (mixed number).
