Can anyone help me with a math problem that has to be answered using the r.a.c.e. method please ???

Four friends want to build a tree house. Jason has 10.25. Marvin has 15.50. Jennifer has 25.00, and Andrea has 12.25. If each piece of wood cost 1.50, how much wood could the four friends buy?   I need to answer this question using the R.A.C.E. method. R- recite, A-frame the ?, C- cite(what does your question of the problem mean), E-explain - what I did. Please help someone !! Ty

1.  These numbers that each individual possesses--is this Dollars?

2.  Apparently you're being told that problems must be answered in a fixed (rigid) system "R.A.C.E."

    I'M SORRY that's the case because that seems like the opposite of CREATIVE REASONING.

 

Here's an answer, which should make sense; I'll let you ship into shape for RACE.

 

I'll form the total (sum) money available: $63 is available to buy N identical pieces of wood at $1.50 each.

 

1.50N = 63;  N = 42.  42 pieces of wood can be bought if Jason, Marvin, Jennifer & Andrew pool all their money.
