(2ab^3)4 = 4x2ab^3 = 8ab^3 If the question is (2ab^3)^4 = 2^4 x a^4 x b^(3+4) = 16a^4b^7 :)

In this case it is not clear if the "4" is an exponent or a factor.I'll do it both ways.
1. exponent (2ab3)4 = 16a4b12
2. factor (2ab3)4 = 8ab3
