Ewan has £450, right?, and one british pound is 99.72 indian rupees
so the net indian rupees he would've got is (450*99.72)=44874 rupees
but, there is some porblem as the exchange bureau only has 500 rupees note.
So, Ewan couldn't get the rupees that I just calculated.
therefore, if you divide 44874 by 500 then quotient is 89 and the left over is 374
now multiply 89 by 500 you would get 44500. so 44500 is the rupees that ewan can get by exchanging his pound
therefore, 44500/99.72=446.25 which means 446 pounds and 25 penny (Answered)
Hope you understand the solution. Please let me know if you don't get it. Cheers
