Imagine you wanted to convince an uninformed person to take a political position that is the same as yours. What issue would you try to talk to this person about? How would you include ethos, pathos, and logos in your persuasion? Make your case below. ___________________________________________________________________________________

Your prompt has already started you on a great path- use ethos, pathos, and logos.  Logos refers to a logical argument, and pathos refers to an emotional argument.  A common way to use ethos is to refer to someone who agrees with you for whom your audience would have respect.

 

Now, my biggest tip for you, is to take time before your begin writing.  Think about a political position that you can write well about.  A position that allows you to use all 3 of ethos, pathos, and logos.  It may not be the position you feel most passionate about.  This is not a feeling assignment, it's a writing assignment.  After you choose your arguments and your topic, take time to plan your essay.
