The physics would say true if one applies differential heating, hot on one side and cold on the other. Therefore, one should be able to bend a solid material without turning it into a liquid. Normally, a rock that we encounter in our daily lives are not pure materials, so they'd more likely to break due to the stress caused by excessive bending.
