Can orbeez absorb bacteria?

Trying to see if it can work in a homemade water filter.

Thank you for your answer, but does that mean orbeez cannot work in a water filter or remove any bad germs(dirt, etc.)?

You're welcome. Macro particles getting adsorbed is different from getting absorbed. Dirt, tiny insects , or any kind of debris getting sort of seived or filtered through orbeez would not be the same as anything absorbing bacteria. 
Now the question , whether orbeez  can act as an adsorbant , that too is very questionable  and in my opinion ...NO.
