I know what its asking me do . But I don't know how to set the problem up or nothing . I am exactly terrible when it comes to word problems. I am better with simple equations , or expressions

w= L +6

 

so, insert value of width in the equation L x w= 280

 

L x L+6 = 280

 

L^{2 +} 6L = 280

 

L² +6L - 280

 

(L² + 20L) ( - 14L -280)

 

L( L + 20) - 14 ( L + 20)

 

( L - 14) ( L+20)

 

L = 14 or L= -20

 

plug Length back into width equation

 

w= 14 +6

 

w= 20

 

so 20*14 =280
