It is 15.6 to convert to a fraction and the 6 has a line above it..sorry should've made that clear..

Convert 15.666 to a fraction.
 
Should this be a repeating decimal, 15.666...?
 
I'll do both:
 
15.666 * 1000/1000 = 15666/1000 = 7833/500.
 
Let n = 15.666..., then
10 n = 156.666...
  - n = - 15.666...
 9 n = 141
 
n = 141/9 = 47/3
 
Now, can you prove 1 = 0.999...?

if the actual number is 15.6666666 repeating.... then 15 and 2/3 since 2/3 =.6666666666 repeating
f the number is only.666, then it is less than 2/3   and cannot be easily quantified

 The idea is write 6( as repeated pattern) in numerator, and 9 ( equal to the digits of the pattern in denominator).

James, what do you mean by, "if the number is only.666, then it is less than 2/3 and cannot be easily quantified"? 0.666 == 666/1000 = 333/500.
