One base of a triangle has a length of 6 ft and a corresponding height of 2 ft.  Another base of the same triangle has a length of 4 ft.   What is its corresponding height?  Explain.

A=(1/2)(b)(h)

A=(1/2)(6)(2)

A=(1/2)(12)

A=6 square feet

 

A=(1/2)(b)(h)

6=(1/2)(4)(h)

6=(2)(h)

h=6/2

h=3 feet
