I am trying to help my 7th grader answer this question and I have no idea.  Please help and explain what type of math is needed to calculate the answer.  I'm sure its very simple but I just celebrated my 25th class reunion.  It's been a long time since I've seen math like this.

In order to find out how much colder Greenland is on this day, simply find the difference between the two temperatures.

 

 

Greenland is 126° F colder than Acosta. 

 

 

Temperature difference = 102 - (-24)

 

= 126
