5(4-8x)=d(5-6x)-4x

You can also solve for x in terms of d:
20-40x = 5d-6dx-4x
(6d-36)x = 5d-20
x = (5d-20)/(6d-36)
The denominator cannot equal 0
If 6d-36 = 0, d=6.
So x is undefined (or does not exist) for d=6.
 
Note if the numerator and denominator are the same or 
if b=c then ax+b = ax+c for ALL x.
0/0 is called indeterminate and it can be any number.
