metric system conversions. I am having trouble with my homework assignment. Please see the above problem. I am suppose to convert 400 cm to ____ m. Please help?

(400 cm)[(1 m)/(100 cm)]

The unit of cm is in the numerator and denominator.  It cancels...

(400 cm)[(1 m)/(100 cm)]

(400)[(1 m)/(100)]

The only unit remaining is meters.  This is what we want...

(400/100) m
