In pharmacy, medications need to measured, tested and evaluated. This is because medications contain chemical that can be harmful if given an overdose. Pharmacists have to measure the dosage so people taking the medication consume the correct amount. Too little, the medication takes no effect. Too much, the medication can kill. You must test for any defects. Defective medication can also kill, and testing allows pharmacist to determine expiration dates. Then evaluation gives it the approval to go to market.
In manufacturing, products are measured so that each component fits to assembly. Testing products gives results to see if the product is a failure or has any defects. Parts can malfunction or break apart. Evaluation for the same reasons as pharmacy.
Overall,
Measurement makes sure the correct amount is produced and maintained.
Testing gives the results of any defects that are found. It also ensures that the product will function correctly.
Evaluation gives the approval for a product to be put out in the market to be sold.
If you work in a S.T.E.M field, you will be performing a lot of measuring, testing, and evaluating.
