Hi Hannah,
The relationship between (1/2)x + (1/3)y and 3x + 2y is that (3x + 2y)/6 is equal to (1/2)x + (1/3)y. So to find the value of 3x + 2y, we need only multiply the value of (1/2)x + (1/3)y by 6.
[ (1/2)x + (1/3)y ] * 6 = 3x + 2y
4 * 6 = 24
