- If you are given a C and told to solve for N, then I would recommend plugging in the domains for N to determine a range of C values for each part of the piecewise function.  Then use the equation which has the correct range for C to find the corresponding value for N.

 

- If you are given a N and told to solve for C, then plug N into the equation which has the correct domain description.  Evaluate the equation to find C.
