A matrix that is not square (number of rows = number of columns) can't have an inverse.

is there any property in which if we take product of (1x2 matrix)*(2x2 matrix inverse)*(2x1 matrix) then this whole this is equal to determinant of 3x3 matrix/2x2 matrix?
