Circle Problem, finding shortest route.

Question

If I get 2 particular angle given in a 0 to 360 form, how would I know (math wise) what is the shortest route to join the two. Ex : if I have 35 degree(me) and 315(destination) I would be better to go back -75 degrees.

315 = 360 - 45

 

This means that from the positive x-axis, you will rotate -45 degrees.

 

If you are initially at 35 degrees, then you want to go -35 - 45, which is -80 degrees to get you to 315 degrees.
