I am between 6 o’clock and 10 o’clock. I am not a half-past time. My hour is an odd number. What time am I?

Would 9:00 be a valid answer too?

According to the way Michael J. interpreted the problem, no.
Not a median time meant it was not after 8:00.  Thus,
it had to be 7:00

However, at what point did it say it actually had to be a
time exactly "on the hour?"  7:00 to 7:59 all work.  Unless
you interpret "half past time" to simply mean it isn't
7:30 or 9:30 in which case there are 116 possible answers.

The problem did say the time is an odd number, which makes it an integer, so only 7:00 or 9:00 could be answers.  I was not sure how to interpret "half-past time."

OK, I see the problem says the HOUR is an odd number, but that alone does not declare the entire time to be an integer.  I think the problem is not defined well enough, with too much subject to interpretation.

Indeed.  A little clarity goes a long way.  Unfortunately, we don't get enough of that here.
