"social" pronunciation

Hi guys I'm really going crazy. Can anyone help me. In which states the word SOCIAL is pronounced with "sh" sound and in which with "s"? Thank you so much

1.  Go with the typical Californian pronunciation--it's free of regionalism.

2.  The way of pronouncing cia in your name, Stacia, is the way of pronouncing the same syllable in SOCIAL.

I would say the New England states pronounce it with "sh", being that, back in colonial times, they spoke using old English.  Another state I could think of is the Southern states.

 

For example, they would say and spell "color" with a "u".  The result is "colour".
