Terell takes 65 minutes so he does

1/65 of the garden per minute.

Wife takes 45 minutes so she does

1/45 of the garden per minute.

Together they do 1/65 + 1/45 per minute.

The whole job equates to 100% or 1

 

(1/65 + 1/45)(m minutes) = 1

 

(9/585 + 13/585)m = 1

(22/585)m = 1

m = 585/22

m = 26.591 minutes

 

It takes 26.6 minutes together.
