V = 648•(3½) = 8•81•(3½)  where the SQUARE ROOT OF 3 has been written with a fractional exponent V = s
so s = cube root of this V.

Cube root of 8 is 2; cube root of 81 is 3•3^(1/3) and cube root of square root of 3 is 3^(1/6).

Therefore s = 2•3•3^(1/3 + 1/6) =  2•3•3½ = 6√3.

You will need to get s2 = 36•3 = 108. Finally, T.S.A. = 6 s2 = 6(108) = 648.
