I will help. I think you meant to rewrite in vertext form: a(x-h)^2 +k

 

y = 9x^2 -12x             +5

 

factor out 9

 

y = 9(x^2 - 4/3x           )    + 5

 

Complete the square

 

y = 9(x^2 -4/3x + 4/9)   + 5 - 4

 

y 9(x-2/3)^2 + 1
