A water balloon is dropped on the bull's-eye target from a stationary hot air balloon. The water balloon is 353 m above the target. If the water balloon accelerates downward at 9.81 m/s squared, how long will it take to hit the target? Show your work please

Assuming it is dropped from rest, and ignoring air resistance,

 

h = (1/2)gt²

 

t = √(2h/g) = √[2(353 m)/(9.81 m/s²)] = 8.48 s
