16x2 - 16x-12 = 4(4x2 - 4x - 3). ..CORRECTED (I had the last sign wrong).
Now the quadratic cannot be factored further because the discriminant b2-4ac is a negative number, so that the zeros of this polynomial will be Complex, involving i
= 4(2x-3)(2x+1). Check this (by FOIL). Sorry I goofed on this, earlier.
