A textile mill produces fabric made from different fibers. From cotton, polyester and nylon, the owner want to produce a fabric blend that will cost RM3.25 per pound to make. The cost per pound of these fibers is RM4.00, RM3.00 and RM2.00, respectively. The amount of nylon is to be the same as the amount of polyester. How much of each fiber will be used in the final fabric.

so now i know 3 equation

4x+3y+2z=3.25
x+y+z=1
y=z

then how to proceed ya?

x=cotton
y=polyester
z=nylon

4x + 3y + 2z = 3.25
x + y + z = 1
y = z

substitute y for z
4x + 3y + 2y = 3.25
x + y + y = 1

x=1-2y
substitute in first equation

4(1-2y)+3y+2y=3.25
4-4y+5y=3.25
y=0.25

substitute y in second equation
x=1-2(0.25)
x=0.5

so
cotton = 0.5 , polyester=nylon=0.25

substitute back
4x+3y+2z=3.25
4(0.5)+3(0.25)+2(0.25)=3.25

just leave it like this right ?
