Note: you need to use parentheses!
N(t) = 3000/(1+21.5e-0.5t)
N(8) = 3000/(1+21.5e-4) ≈ 2152
NOTE: In my original answer, I typed 215 instead of 21.5. Also, the number 300 in your formula should be 3000 (the initial population). I believe that my new answer is now correct.
