Inverse proportion to distance

Question

The intensity of light falling on an object is inversely proportional to the the square of the distance of the light source from the object. the intensity  is 175 watts when the light source is 6 meters from an object. find the intensity when the light source is moved to a point 2 meters from the object.

y=k/x^2

175=k/36

k=175×36=6300

y1=6300/4=1575

The intensity of the light is 1575 watts when the light source is 2 metres from an object.
