3500 Balls in a Bag

Question

A bag contains 3500 Green, White and Gold coloured balls. There are 1100 Green balls There are 2 times as many White than Gold.How many White balls are there? How would you work this out please? I have already found out how many white and gold balls there are combined but am struggling to find the answer to the next step.

Iman, I think you are overthinking this.

 

g + 2g = 2400

3g = 2400

g = 800

 

If there are two times as many white, then there are 2g = 1600 white.

 

Or, 3500 - 1100 - 800 = 1600
