Hi Sammy, the distance between two points is given by the formula:
d = √( (x2 - x1)2 + (y2 - y1)2 )
Let (x1, y1) be (-2/3, 3/2).
Let (x2, y2) be (7/3, 2)
Distance:
d = √( (7/3 - (-2/3))2 + (2 - 3/2)2
d = √( (9/3)2 + (1/2)2 )
d = √( 9 + 1/4 [written as .25])
d = √9.25
d ≈ 3.04
Midpoint:
m = ( (x1 + x2) / 2, (y1 + y2) / 2 )
m = ( (-2/3 + 7/3 / 2, (3/2 + 2) / 2 )
m = (5/6, 7/4)
