Using the pythagorean theorem, find the distance between the two x values and the distance between the two y values. These are the legs of the right triangle.
4-0 = 4
3-1 = 2
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
4^2 + 2^2 = c^2
16 + 4 = c^2
20 = c^2
take square root of both sides
4√2 = c or approx. 4.47
