The equation is in the format of...

y=mx+b

m is the slope.

b is the y-intercept, the value of y when x=0

y=1/2 x + 2

1/2 is the slope.

(0,2) is the y-intercept.

It would also be helpful to know the x-intercept, the value of x when y=0

0=1/2 x + 2

-2=1/2x

-4=x

(-4,0) is the x-intercept.

Plot both points, and draw a line.

Verify your work with the slope.  According to the slope of 1/2, your line should be rising 1 unit while moving to the right 2 units.  As it descends 1 unit, it should also move 2 units to the left.
