Tutoring in Precalculus, Trig, and Differential Calculus
y+3x=8x-7
Subtract 3x from both sides:
y = 5x - 7
Now you know the relationship between x and y, but you don't know the value of either.
If you are given the value of one of the variables you can solve for the value of the other.
