1. An isosceles triangle has at least two sides that are equal lengths. This also means that an isosceles triangle also has two equal angle measures. For example, an isosceles right triangle has one 90 degree angle and therefore two 45 degree angles, and its side lengths are in the ratio of 1:1: square root of 2. Please note, these angle measures and side length ratios are only for isosceles right triangles, though. An isosceles triangle that is not a right triangle can have any 2 equal angle measures and any 2 equal side lengths.
2. Equilateral triangles have 3 equal side lengths and therefore 3 equal angle measures of 60 degrees each. Equilateral triangles are special cases of isosceles triangles--similar to the way a square is a special case of a rectangle.
