Question

a blueprint has a scale in which 1 inch represents 6 feet. Find the dimensions of a rectangular room that measures 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/4 inches on the blueprint.

If 1 inch = 6 ft, then 

2 1/2 inches = 2.5 inches = 6 * 2.5 = 15 ft

 

and 

 

3 1/4 inches = 3.25 inches = 6 * 3.25 = 19.5 = 19 1/2 ft

 

The dimensions are 15 ft x 19 1/2 ft
