A "zero" is the value of x that makes f(x) = 0. It might be 0 yet it need not be!
0 = -3x/4 + 6
-6 = -3x/4 subtract 6 form both sides
-24 = -3x multiply both sides by 4
8 = x divide both sides by -3
The zero is 8, e.g., (8, 0) is a solution.
