Seventeen times the first of two consecutive odd integers is fifteen times the second. Find the integers.

If the first integer is x, the next odd integer is (x + 2)

 

17x = 15(x + 2)

17x = 15x + 30

2x = 30

x = 15

 

The integers are 15 and 17

17x = 15(x + 2)

17x = 15x + 30

  2x = 30

    x = 15
