y: Number of days it will take Bailey to paint the neighbor's house

 

Andrew works 2 times faster than Bailey

x = 2y  (Equation 1)

 

When they paint together (x + y) it takes them 7 days: x + y = 7 (Equation 2)

 

2y + y = 7

3y = 7

y=7/3 = 2-1/3 days

x = 14/3 = 4-2/3 days
