Question

two workers work at a total of 48 hours. One worker made $32 per hour and work two made $41 per hour. the total gross earnings was $1734. How many hours did each worker worked?

Answer 1

a + b = 48 ------> a = 48 - b

32a + 41b = 1734

32(48 - b) + 41b = 1734

1536 - 32b + 41b = 1734

9b = 198

b = 22

 

a = 48 - 22 = 26
